Amy Hatcher

“I have always had a passion for children’s learning and development. After working in a maths and English tuition centre for a year, I decided that I wanted to work in Early Years as I enjoyed supporting children’s learning and development through play based experiences. I decided to apply for the Early Years Initial Teacher Training at Seymour House as I had always known that Seymour House was highly regarded in the sector.

I started my career at Seymour House as a Trainee Early Years Teacher at Lawn Lane Nursery. I quickly developed my knowledge and skills by undertaking full time employment as well as studying alongside. After gaining my Early Years Teacher Status, I decided to apply for the position of Head of Early Years Practice At Broomfield Hospital Nursery as I wanted to further my career within a management role.

My favourite part of being a Head of Early Years Practice is being able to lead the care and education across the whole nursery by reflecting upon the provision and supporting the team with their own practices and professional development. ”
