A Senior Early Years Educator works closely with, and as part of the Management Team, supporting practice improvement and having the opportunity to lead across the setting and within the homebase rooms.  Our Senior Early Years Educators also assist with mentoring newer team members, and ensure our approach is always forward thinking and of the highest quality.

Hannah Schwefel

“I love my job, especially seeing all the children developing their own individual personalities as they learn about the world around them and how to form positive relationships with others.  I have spent 4 years working with children ages 2-4 in our upstairs classroom. For 3 of those years I worked with the nursery class children preparing them for school.  The prepared for school programme is something Seymour House has put lots of time, effort and experience in to creating and gives the children all the tools they need to successfully transition to primary school.

I started as an Early Years Eductor at Seymour House and have been supported to develop leadership skills, by joining in with Future Leader Groups. I was then promoted to a Senior Early Years Educator which enables to work along side the management team, mentoring team members and developing ideas within the nursery’

I currently work supporting my team, caring and educating children aged between 2 and 3 with a maximum group size of 16.  This age group presents a rewarding and challenging environment where I am able to, along side my team, promote positive relationships, self-confidence and valuing each other as individuals.”
