About Lawn Lane Nursery
At Lawn Lane Day Nursery School, Chelmsford, we work in partnership with you to ensure your child receives the best possible start to their education. Our nursery school is purpose built and provides the perfect environment for young children. We have 3 cosy home base rooms and a spacious garden which encourages children to play and explore. Our educational program is judged as “outstanding” by Ofsted.
We would love to talk to you about our outstanding Lawn Lane Nursery, Chelmsford, and are delighted to be able to offer term time only places as well as regular attendance. Children are taught exceptionally well, by a dynamic team of Teachers who have an excellent knowledge of how children learn and develop, and who effectively support children's learning through play. Delivering outstanding early education
We believe that working together with parents achieves the best outcome for children’s learning and development. So, we’ve created engaging early education resources that are available for free to parents of children at our nurseries. Our resources support literacy and maths but also communication, critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, curiosity.
Teaching children to read and write
Discover how we teach our nursery school children to read and write by introducing letters and sounds, while practising listening and speaking. Before long, children start to recognise familiar words automatically and read new words by decoding them quickly. As soon as children can read independently, the emphasis shifts from learning to read, to reading to learn.
Introducing numeracy to children
Find out how we introduce numeracy to our nursery school children using Dragon Maths. This is an effective learning process that was developed at Seymour House to give children a firm foundation in numeracy. Dragon Maths gives children the confidence to master arithmetic at primary school, mathematics at secondary, and opens the door to the stem subjects: science, technology, engineering, and maths.

I joined Seymour House as an Early Years educator and I have had the opportunity to access the wide range of training opportunities to progress in my career as a nursery manager. I have over 10 years’ experience in working in the Early Years and I am passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and education to young children. I look forward to welcoming you and your family into our outstanding nursery environment and introducing you to our amazing team.

Head of Early Years Practice
I have always been passionate about working in the Early Years. I joined Seymour House in 2018 as Senior Early Years Educator and have worked in Early Years for over 10 years now. Within this time, I have completed my BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies and supported several of our nursery sites. During my time at Seymour House so far, I have been provided with amazing training and progression opportunities to develop my skills. As a Head of Early Years Practice, I lead a team of passionate and experienced individuals who I share my knowledge and skills with to provide outstanding care and education for all children who join our setting.
