Our brighter world commitment
To teach children about being kind to each other and our planet through our ‘Go Green curriculum’
Our Go Green curriculum and climate change related pedagogy builds a wonderful appreciation for the world around us. It also teaches green habits by raising awareness of sustainability and the small changes we can make to help protect the environment.
There are 5 focus areas:
- Reduce
- Reuse
- Recycle
- Respecting wildlife – animals
- Respecting wildlife – plants
To provide tasty and nutritious menus, expertly created from ingredients that are kind to animals, people and our planet
Our Nursery Kitchen team lovingly select only the best ingredients from farms that share our vision on food origin, animal welfare and sustainability. With a kitchen powered by renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, zero waste to landfill and surplus produce donated to The Felix Project, Nursery Kitchen are glowing with green.
To support local charities with causes close to our heart, benefiting children’s wellbeing and education
We are currently supporting Home-Start Essex, a fantastic charity who aim to give children the best possible start in life by supporting parents and caregivers so they feel less isolated, build confidence in themselves and their parenting plus find ways to manage the challenges they face.
We are proud to assist Home-Start Essex with our expertise in early years education and food and nutrition as well as our time, through team volunteering at local Family Groups and raising awareness with fundraising initiatives.
To think green by minimising waste, using green energy and reducing our carbon footprint in any way we can
We encourage our team to ‘think green’ in everything they do and to apply this mindset when making decisions. Our Reduce, Recycle, and Upcycle initiatives help minimise waste to landfill and reduce single use plastics. We hold meetings online wherever possible to keep our team off the road and we ensure that deliveries are kept to a minimum. Our aim is to continually improve and look for more ways that we can become greener.
