Set within a charming Victorian three storey house in Springfield, just to the east of Chelmsford city centre, Springfield Road Nursery provides a home from home, nurturing environment for our children to thrive and grow.

Our homebase rooms are not only warm and calm spaces for children to play and learn but are also bright and airy, with beautiful bay windows which look out into our fun and engaging outdoor classroom.
The children love to explore and be curious outside, especially when they are within our kitchen garden where they can engage with nature and explore fun growing activities. Springfield Road Nursery also has its very own library full of wonderful fiction and non-fiction books, inspiring children’s love of reading with their friends and parents.

Katie Miller
Nursery ManagerI always wanted to work in early years from a young age, following in my own mother’s footsteps. I’m proud to have become an Early Years Teacher, inspiring our next generation with fun and creative ideas. I love showing families around our nurturing nursery and supporting them with their transition into nursery and beyond. In my spare time I enjoy exploring new places and learning about dinosaurs with my little boy, Arlo.
Megan Williams
Head of Early Years PracticeI have been part of the incredible team at Seymour House since 2017. In that time, I have been fortunate to work across our nurseries to develop my skills and knowledge. My role is to inspire our team of educators, maintain a beyond brilliant environment for children to explore, resource magical play experiences, create a nurturing space for children to thrive, lead practices and implement new thinking and theory.
Our Early Years Educators
Our Early Years Educators are outstanding fountains of knowledge, with a wide range of experience and qualifications. They ensure children’s individual needs are met, provide quality care and educational opportunities, and create an enriched learning environment where children thrive.
Our Apprentices
Our Apprentices, with the support and knowledge from our Nursery Leadership Team, continuously improve, embed and practice outstanding care and education across the nursery whilst continuing their studies through our Seymour House Apprentice Academy.
Our Nursery Food Champion
Our Nursery Food Champion supports our team in delivering food education to the children through cooking, planting in our kitchen garden, and understanding where our food comes from. They also work with Nursery Kitchen to provide healthy and balanced meals for our children throughout the day.
