Our approach to early years childcare balances the joy of play with the structure and skills that support a smooth transition to school. In our nurseries, the older children are encouraged to explore new challenges and to take increasing responsibility for their own learning. Daily routines are designed to encourage curiosity and resilience helping every child build their confidence.
In this way we help our 3 to 4-year-olds develop their independence in a calm, caring and familiar environment, gradually preparing them for the next stage of their educational journey.

Our experienced Early Years Educators and Nursery Managers know that the final nursery years are about so much more than letters and numbers, they’re also about confidence, curiosity and character. Each day, our team creates opportunities for children to explore new ideas, ask questions and seek out ways to find their own solutions.
With gentle encouragement and plenty of praise, they help every child learn to problem-solve, cooperate and express themselves. That may be through imaginative role play, early writing or working together on a creative project. Our educators understand that every child’s journey is unique, so learning is always tailored to their own pace, interests and personality.
By the time children leave Seymour House, they’ve built the essential skills they need for school and for life – independence, resilience and a real love for learning.

Through our 5Cs curriculum encompassing Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Cooperation and Curiosity, we inspire confident, capable learners. In School &Beyond, this comes to life through more focused projects, story-based adventures, early science and maths investigations and collaborative play.
Our creative teaching continues to spark imaginations, making learning exciting and memorable. In addition, our Go Green activities encourage environmental awareness and care for the world around us whilst our Food Education inspires healthy eating habits from an early age.
Healthy bodies, healthy minds
At Seymour House, we know that great food fuels great learning. Our freshly prepared, balanced meals and snacks from Nursery Kitchen give children the energy and focus they need to make the most of their day. Mealtimes are a highlight in our early learning and childcare routine, a time to connect, chat and share delicious dishes together.
Older children are encouraged to serve themselves, pour their own drinks and make independent choices, helping them to build confidence and good table manners. Our team is always nearby to guide, celebrate new tastes, and make every mealtime a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
Menus are thoughtfully created to be both nutritious and adventurous, introducing children to a variety of flavours and textures. Our nurseries also have kitchen gardens where children can pick herbs, plant vegetables and see for themselves where their food comes from, adding a sprinkle of curiosity to every bite.
Through these small, joyful experiences, children develop healthy habits and a positive relationship with food that lasts well beyond their nursery years.
