Seymour House Celebrates the Opening of Channels Day Nursery with the Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford

Seymour House proudly celebrated the official handover and opening of Channels Day Nursery on Friday (3rd October), with an afternoon of joy and gratitude shared among the many people who helped bring the new nursery to life.
The event welcomed the Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford, Cllr Smita Rajesh, and her consort, Rajesh Kumar, who joined the Seymour House team, partners, and guests to mark the occasion and tour the purpose-built nursery in the heart of the Channels community.
Designed to capture the wonder of early childhood, Channels Day Nursery features light and calming homebase rooms, inspiring outdoor areas, a kitchen garden for children to grow their own fruit and vegetables, and a rooftop terrace created especially for preschoolers to spark exploration and awe.
Brogan Hughes, Nursery Manager at Channels Day Nursery, said:
“This event was a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work, creativity, and collaboration that made Channels possible. Every detail has been designed to support children as they grow in confidence, curiosity, and creativity. We’re so excited to begin this new chapter with our families.”
Head of Early Years Practice, Megan Smith, added:
“At Seymour House, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. The opening of Channels Day Nursery brings that vision to life with inspiring spaces, nourishing food, and an experienced team ready to provide a beyond brilliant nursery experience for every child who joins us.”
Channels Day Nursery is already welcoming families and has a growing waiting list for 2026. An Open Day will be held on Saturday 25th October, inviting local families to explore the nursery, taste freshly prepared meals, and meet the team.
