By completing an Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) programme, you will achieve Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) and can use your knowledge and skills to encourage a life-long love of learning in young children. EYTS will allow you to work in any nursery or early years setting.

The Early Years Initial Teacher Training job description
The EYITT job role is a fantastic opportunity to gain a postgraduate qualification whilst also being in full-time employment. All successful candidates for an early years teacher training job are enrolled on the fully funded EYITT course. Whilst the training aspect begins in September, we may employ candidates to begin working with us prior to this. The EYITT course involves attending training days with experienced tutors and expert practitioners of early years education. You also have a designated mentor to guide you through the course as well as opportunities to meet and network with a wide range of early years professionals.
During your Early Years Initial Teacher Training you will work alongside the Nursery Leadership Team and our Early Years Educators. Your job will involve caring for the children and teaching our 5Cs curriculum in a fun and engaging learning environment. After successfully completing your training and gaining your teaching qualification, you will be offered a new contract as an Early Years Teacher.

What qualifications do I need for an EYITT job?
To apply for an Early Years Initial Teacher Training job you must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Early Years, or equivalent
- GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade 4 (Grade C) or above. (Or an equivalent qualification)
- Eligible to work in the UK and to undertake an advanced DBS check (this will be arranged by Seymour House)

Early Years Apprenticeships FAQs
What qualifications do I need for a job in a nursery?
For our Early Years Educator roles, you will need a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Early Years.
If you do not have a Level 3 qualification, our Early Years Apprenticeship programme -(link to apprenticeship page) provides in-house, on the job training where you’ll also earn a competitive salary.
Nursery Food Champion roles do not require any formal qualifications or experience, but you will need a passion for food, nutrition, child development, and working in an environment with young children.
To become a Lunch Assistant or part of our Relief Team you will need to be a natural nurturer, who brings joy and enthusiasm to the nursery day. These roles do not require any formal qualifications.
