Broomfield Hospital Nursery Achieves Outstanding Ofsted Rating

Broomfield Hospital Day Nursery School has been awarded the highest Ofsted rating, after it was found that, “Children are very happy and immensely valued by the deeply nurturing staff”. Staff were also recognised for giving, “The utmost priority to children’s safety and well-being”, and having, “highly comprehensive safeguarding knowledge”.

Ofsted’s Inspector on the day, noted that, “The children are enthusiastic and excited about their learning…and make their own choices from the rich variety of activities.” It was also reported that the children eagerly participate in the nursery’s own mathematical programme, with the Inspector remarking that the children, “solve complex problems, such as addition and subtraction.”

The Ofsted Report, which was published in May 2022, clearly demonstrates that the team at Bromfield Hospital Nursery have an excellent understanding of child development. “They know how their children prefer to learn.” stated the inspector, who goes on to praise the team for delivering, “an impressive and well-sequenced curriculum that consistently meets children’s needs.”

The nursery, which is open year-round except for one week over Christmas, offers 51 places to children aged from 0 – 5 years. Evidently, all ages adore this caring and educational environment, where babies, “squeal in excitement as they perfect rolling a ball to staff.” And “babble and listen intently to staff singing their favourite songs.”

The Ofsted Inspector commended the nursery on their “exceptional” partnerships with parents, declaring that, “Parents receive excellent communication from staff about their children’s time in the nursery”. Further, they are given, “constant support and ideas of how to complement their children’s learning at home.” Parents were reported as describing the staff as ‘exceptional’ and how they go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure their children’s needs are fully met.
